MEDICAL AVIATION

MEDICAL AVIATION, a specialized emergency medical service that utilizes planes and helicopters of military and civilian aviation in order to transport patients and injured individuals to healthcare institutions and to provide emergency medical care to them. It provides high‑quality emergency and scheduled consultative medical care, such as delivery of physicians, urgent medical shipments, evacuation of patients, carrying out of urgent diagnostic and laboratory studies, etc. Bashkortostan is one of the few areas of the RF where M.a. is still active. There are more than 100 flights of M.a. taking place annually in the RB. Two AN‑2 planes, Mi‑8, R‑44 Robinson (USA) and VK‑177 (Germany) helicopters are used to carry out medical missions. VK‑177 has 8 various vital medical equipment placement configurations, the non‑stop 550 km flight. The size of its flight deck allows to freely perform medical procedures and even surgeries during flight.
