SEVOSTYANOV, Sergey Aleksandrovich (b.5.11.1960 in Valuyki), Athlete. Merited Master of Sports (athletics) of Russia (1992). Distinguished Athlete of the RB (1994). Awarded with the Order for Personal Courage (1992), Order of Honour (2002), Order of Friendship (1996), Order for Merits to the Republic of Bashkortostan (2000), Order of Salavat Yulayev (2004), the 2nd Class Medal of Order for Merits to the Fatherland (2006). A trainee of the Spartak Voluntary Sports Society, the Sports Skills Development School of the RB (both – Ufa; Coach– P.Z.Buylov). Champion (2‑times 1992; 1996, 2000), Silver (3‑times 1988; 1992, 1996) and Bronze (2‑times 2004) Medalist of the Paralympic Games; 6‑times World Champion, 15‑times European Champion, multiple Silver and Bronze Medalist of the World and European Championships; 8‑times World Record holder in 100 m running, long jump, pentathlon and triple jump among blind athletes. Member of the National Team (1983–2009).
