SOCIAL INSURANCE
SOCIAL INSURANCE, a form of social protection in case of insured risks, such as a need for medical care, temporary disability, occupational diseases, physical disability, old age, job loss, death of insured individual or disabled members of family, dependent from that individual, and others; a type of personal insurance. In Bashkortostan there is an active regional division of the Social Insurance Fund of the RF in the RB (founded in 1994), which provides mandatory S.i. for temporary disability and motherhood leave, industrial accidents and occupational diseases, provides welfare beneficiaries for health resort treatment, disabled people with prosthetics and technical rehabilitation means, payment of services of state and municipal healthcare institutions provided to women in the period of pregnancy and childbirth, post delivery period and services on the child follow‑up during the first year of life based on Birth Certificate Program, financing of medical examinations of workers, affected by adverse and dangerous industrial factors, etc. There are 11 branches in the RB with over 600 employees. The benefit payment to temporary disabled citizens (due to disease or injury) was 5.1 billion rubles, payments related to motherhood and childhood – 6.2 billion rubles. 4,260 vouchers for treatment
in health resorts have been issued to welfare beneficiaries. In 2017, the total amount of payments in all categories amounted to about 15 billion rubles.
