STERLIBASHEVSKOFYODOROVSKAYA UPLAND, stretches from the NW to the SE from the middle reaches of the Dyoma River to the border of the Orenburg oblast. Abs. height — 479 m. It is the continuation of the Belebey Upland. The relief is of denudation‑erosion type; consists of syrts, smoothed steep slopes, hills and saddles (relative height 5—50 m). Slopes are stepped, they are smoothed at the foot, sometimes they pass into river terraces. On S. F.U. there are heads of Dyoma, Urshak, Ashkadar, Salmysh (basin of the Ural River) rivers and of the tributaries of the Sakmara River. The combination of broadleaf steppe forests with undergrowth of pea shrub and shrub cherry is typical for the west part. In the central p. there are multi‑grass, sod grass and stony steppes with Stipa Zalesskii. In the east p. there are meadow steppes and steppe meadows with Stipa pulcherrima, etc. There is a vertical differentiation of landscapes: the tops of syrts are forested more than the gentle slopes of the north exposure and floodplain terraces. Leached black soils are common. Sterlibashevsky and Fyodorovsky raions are located within the S. F.U.
