TECHNOGENIC-MINERAL DEPOSITS
TECHNOGENIC-MINERAL DEPOSITS, accumulations of mineral substances on the surface of Earth or in mining workings, formed as a result of their separation from the mass in the course of mining and as a result of mining, processing, metallurgical and other plant operations waste storage . T.m.d. is the source of valuable components suitable for industrial use. Toxic industrial waste is concentrated at the mining (Baymaksky, Uchalinsky and Khaibullinsky raions), oil production industry, oilrefining industry, and chemical industry in Ufa, Sterlitamak, Salavat, Ishimbay, etc. In the RB, the tailings of flotation concentration of copper-sulphide ores (more than 100 million t) contain more than 700 thous. t of copper, 1.5 million t of zinc, 1,900 t of silver, 100 t of gold, etc. Mining and chemical raw materials processing waste (more than 10 million t), coal milling sludge and energy ash slag (more than 3 million t) are used as raw materials for the chemical industry, the non-ferrous and ferrous metallurgy, the production of construction materials. The expert assessment of forecast P1 category-resources of copper, zinc, sulfur, gold, silver and other components of the tailing stock of the Uchaly Mining and Processing Plant was performed by the Central Prospecting and Exploration Institute of Non-ferrous and Rare Metals (Moscow) in 2007. The State Register of Mineral Reserves has registered 1 technogenic deposit.
