TIMERGAZIN, Kadyr Rakhimovich (5.2.1913, Derevnya Akchuvashevo of Shadrinsky Uyezd of Perm Gub., now Derevnya Chebakul of Kunashaksky Raion of Chelyabinsk Obl., — 4.4.1963, Ufa), Petroleum Geologist. Dr. Sci. in Geology and Mineralogy (1958), Full Professor (1960). Merited Master of Sciences and Technology of the RSFSR (1957). Awarded with the 2nd Class Order of the Patriotic War (1945), Order of the Red Star (1944), Order of the Badge of Honour (1948, 1959). Participant in the Great Patriotic War. After graduating from the Kazan University (1935), he worked at the Central scientific-research laboratory of Bashneft Association (since 1946 as Dir.). Since 1947 – at the UfNII, since 1951 — at the Mining and Metallurgical Institute. Between 1959—63 — Chairman of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the BASSR. T. studied the deposits of Lower Сarbonic and Devonian periods, investigated the complex of the Riphean and Vendian deposits of the Volga-Ural petroleum province and substantiated their industrial petroleum potential. T. was the first to develop the stratigraphic scheme of the Upper Precambrian period of the platform part of the RB. He was one of the founders of the Bashkir Branch of the AS USSR and of the Mining and Metallurgical Institute as its constituent (1951). The Academy of Sciences of the RB established an award named after him.
