TOLSTIKOV, Alexander Genrikhovich (b.16.8.1957 in Alma-Ata), Сhemist. Associate Member of the RAS (2000), D. Sci. (Chemical Sciences) (1993), Full Professor (2001). Laureate of the RF State Award in the field of Science and Technology (1993), Leninist Komsomol Award (1986). After graduating from the BSU (1980), he worked in the Institute of Organic Chemistry until 1994. Since 2003, Deputy Chief Academic Secretary of the RAS, since 2006 in the Institute of Petrochemistry and Catalysis. T. conducted a complete synthesis of leukotrienes of A4, C4, E4, A5, E5 series and their analogues. Under the leadership of T., pheromones, chiral phosphorus, nitrogen- and sulfur-containing ligands, antihypoxants, juvenoids, etc were developed T. took part in the development of medicines, veterinary preparations, growth stimulants of industrial woody plants, catalysts for the synthesis of complexing agents and industrial introduction of polymeric adhesives for surgery. Acad. of the Russian Academy of Arts (2013). T. is a famous painter, author of several portraits of contemporaries, still-life paintings, etc. Personal exhibitions: Yekaterinburg (1998), Moscow (2015, 2016), Novosibirsk (1992), Oklahoma-City, Pusan (both – 2003), St. Petersburg (2015, 2016), etc.
