TOLSTIKOV, Genrikh Aleksandrovich (21.1.1933, Kangurt of the Tadjik SSR – 26.4.2013, Novosibirsk), Organic Chemist. Acad. of the RAS (1987), D.Sci. (Chemical Sciences) (1969), Full Professor (1970). Merited Master of Sciences and Technology of the BASSR (1975). Laureate of the State Award in the field of Science and Technology of the USSR (1990) and RF (2003). Awarded with the Order of Peoples’ Friendship (1983), Order of the Badge of Honour (1975), the 4th Class Order for Merits to the Fatherland (2009), Order of Honour (1998). Graduated from the Kazakh State University (Alma-Ata, 1957). Between 1968–93, he worked in the Institute of Organic Chemistry (since 1977 as Dir.), simultaneously, since 1980 Deputy Chairman, between 1984–93 Chairman of Presidium of the USC RAS, between 1987–93 1st Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of the Urals Branch of the RAS. Founder of the scientific school of complex metal catalysis in organic and organometallic synthesis. The technologies for production of special-purpose hydrocarbons, vinyl chloride, herbicides, fungicides, isoprene rubber, synthetic guttapercha, amines, phenolic antioxidants, watersoluble polymers have been developed and introduced under the leadership of T. The preparations based on prostaglandins; tools to control insect pest populations and intensify efficiency of beekeeping, generic drug technology, etc, and a facility for fixing a reactor antineutrino have been created for the first time in the country.
