STERLITAMAK BASHKIR DRAMA THEATRE, state-owned. It was founded in 1990; since 2013, it joined the Sterlitamak State Theatrical and Concert Association. The first Artistic Managing Director and Chief Stage Director — G.M.Ilyasova. The period of theconception of the theater is characterized by the creation of the concept performances aimed at the liberation of social and moral consciousness of the people. The repertoire was represented by the works of moral and philosophical themes of the Bashkir and Russian authors. Performances Empty Cradle by I.H.Yumagulov, The Usurper of Love and Forgotten Prayer (laureate of the RB State Award named after Salavat Yulayev, 1994) by F.M.Bulyakov, Take Them, Shambala! by B.R.Gavrilov, Cave by G.G.Shafikov were characterized by psychological acuteness, philosophical orientation, grotesque and metaphoricity of stage image. Since late 1990s, the theatre has been characterized by active search for new works, original stage forms and solutions. Since 2000s, the theatre has mostly turned to the works of Bashkir and Tatar dramaturgy, including classical works (Shaurakay by M.A.Burangulov, Galiyabanu by M.Fayzi). The works of foreign (Molière, D.Patrick, K.Chandra) and Russian (V.V.Zherebtsov, D.V.Guryanov) playwrights have also been staged. The performances devoted to historical topics are distinguished by the unique stage solution and by the utilization of the elements of folklore: tragedy Wolf Howl by H.A.Irgalin, epic drama Kakhym‑turya by A.H.Dilmukhametova and I.I.Dilmukhametov, and parable Bendebike and Erence‑sesen A.G.Husainov, sad comedy And Toratau Is Still There... by R.M.Kinzyabayev, etc. Among the performances that received awards, there are works by A.N.Ziganshin (since 2009 – Chief Stage Director, between 2012—14 – Artistic Managing Director): The Magic Melody by Yumagulov — the winner of the Grand Prize of the Republican Festival of Performances for Children Kyolonsak (Colt; 2008), Do You Love — Don’t You Love? by Bulyakov – the winner of the Republican Festival of Theaters of the RB Theatre Spring in nominations Hope, Best Scenography, Best Actress (2009; both — in Ufa), Moscow—Vasyutki by Bulyakov — the winner of All-Russia Theatre Festival of Young Directors Remeslo (Kazan, 2011), the winner of the Grand Prize of the International Festival of Turkic-speaking Theaters Tuganlyk (Ufa, 2012), etc.
