TRANSPORT CONSTRUCTION

TRANSPORT CONSTRUCTION, a construction industry, performing the erection and reconstruction of the facilities of road, air, railway, river, and pipeline transport; includes the construction of earth roadbed for roads and railways, track superstructure, railway electrification, automation and telemechanical devices, road and airfield paving, bridges, tunnels and subways, berths at river ports, channels, trunk oil and gas pipelines, railway stations, depots, service and technical buildings and other transport buildings. In the RB, the length of public railways is about 1.5 thous. km, roads – about 30.0 thous. km, the total length of inland waterways – about 1.0 thous. km, trunk pipelines – 10.0 thous. km. In the RB, the construction and reconstruction of transport facilities is performed by enterprises: Bashkiravtodor, Gazprom Transgaz Ufa, Vostoknefteprovodstroy, Uralmostostroy, Bridge-Building Administration (all – in Ufa); engineering is performed by institutes: Bashkirdortransproyekt and Uraldortrans (both – in Ufa).
