TRANSPORTATION HUBS

TRANSPORTATION HUBS, complexes of transportation means connecting the logistic lines of various means of transport with the purpose of providing service of transit, local and mountain transportation of goods and passengers. They are formed in the main cities, maximum close to the industry, construction and commercial enterprises, and service sector and create a significant number of job opportunities. The territory of the RB is characterized by favorable economic and geographical position, hence it’s a transit area between the eastern and western parts of the country. Ufa is a T.h. for transportation of goods — pipeline transport, railway transport, road transport, river transport; passengers — car, railway and air transport, etc. The Ufa T.h. is the leading in the republic, its share accounts for 21% of the transported goods and 25% of the cargo turnover of motor transport of the republic; Sterlitamak T.h. ranks 2nd as per turnover (12% and 5% respectively). The Beloretsk, Neftekamsk, Salavat, Tuymazy T.h. play a significant role in the socio-economic and transport system of the republic. Some border districts of the republic are partially served by T.h. of neighboring regions, for example, Magnitogorsk T.h. is of immediate importance for the Bashkir Trans-Ural region.
