PIPELINE TRANSPORT

PIPELINE TRANSPORT, a type of transport, performing the transfer of liquid, gaseous or solid products through pipelines. Depending on the purpose and location, there is trunk P.t. (gas pipelines, oil pipelines, oil product pipelines) and industrial P.t. (process pipelines). P.t. also includes municipal gas, water and sewerage networks, etc. In the RB, P.t. accounts for more than 70.5% of cargo turnover. The basic part of P.t. unites all oil-producing areas and refineries, provides oil transportation to the enterprises of the Republic, Tatarstan, and Samara Obl., etc. The following companies, largest in the RF, operate in the Republic: Gazprom Transgaz Ufa, Transneft-Ural, Uraltransnefteproduct (Ufa).
