CONSTRUCTION AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT OF THE RB INSTITUTE, a research, design, engineering and production BashNIIstroy, GUP. Located in Ufa. Established in 1956. Main activities: research in the sphere of foundation engineering, building structures and materials; creation of building and structure construction and reconstruction projects, also in complicated soil conditions; engineering and construction survey and development of regulatory and technical documentation, etc. The scientists of the Institute have developed and adopted for production pile foundations, including those without grillage for prefabricated large-panel residential houses, single-pile variations for industrial construction (driven cast-in-place, combined, hollow round, bearing piles, etc.), pipe supports for pipelines and racks; developed the design of underground structures and foundations for complex facilities, including those in cavernous territories; building machines, probing units, prestrained reinforced structures; a method of obtaining a cementless binding material from soda production wastes and a technology for using it in construction products; materials with a high temperature resistance to be used as an efficient heat insulation for structures enclosing the building, etc. The Institute was involved in the development of designs for the buildings of the Bashkir Drama House, the National Museum, Zaki Validi National Library, Business Park, Congress Hall Centre, the “Lasselsberger” ceramic tiles plant, OAO Amstar, AO Polyef, the “Semya” shopping mall, the “Centralny” trade centre, OOO Gostiny Dvor, the railway station, multistorey residential houses (all in Ufa) and other projects. More than 250 invention certificates and patents have been obtained.
