SULEYMANOVA, Guzel Galeevna

SULEYMANOVA, Guzel Galeevna (25.2. 1927, Ufa – 14.4.1969, Ibid.), Ballet Dancer. People’s Artist of RSFSR (1955), and BASSR (1953). Between 1936–47 (with interruptions) she studied at the Leningrad Choreographic School. From 1945 was a soloist at the Bashkir State Opera and Ballet Theatre. Continued academic traditions of the Leningrad Ballet School. The actress created a number of unforgettable images which were convincing in strength and dramatic expressiveness. She had great ability in plastique rendition of characters. S.’s dance was distinguished by its polished technique, ease of execution, poetic style and elegance.
