SYRTLANOV, Ravil Shahaidarovich [29.10.1877, Derevnya Shlanlykulevo of Belebeyevsky Uyezd of Ufa Gub. (Buzdyaksky Raion of the RB) — 20.6.1916, near Derevnya Skrobovo of Vitebsk Gub., buried in his homeland], Military Leader. Major General (1916) noble origin. Awarded with the 4th Class Order of St. Gyeorgiy (George) (1917), the 3rd (1913) and 4th (1905) Class Order of St. Anna, the 3rd Class Order of St. Stanislav (1912). Participant of the 1904 – 05 Russian-Japanese War and the First World War. Graduated from the 2nd Orenburg Cadet Corps, Mikhailovsky Artillery School (1898) and the Nikolayev General Staff Academy (1905; both — in St. Petersburg). He served in the Russian Army between 1895 and 1916. Since 1898, he served in the Leib Guards 3rd Artillery Brigade. Since December 1905 – in the 1st Tashkent Reserve Battalion. Since 1907 – at the Headquarters of the 1st Turkestan Army Corps. Since 1912 – at the Headquarters of the Turkestan Military Okrug (County). Since September – a teacher of the Aleksey Military School in Moscow. Since 1915 – the plenipotentiary of Commander of Headquarters of the 22nd Infantry Division. Since 1916 – Commander of the 166th Rovnensky Infantry Regiment.
