SYRTLANOVA, Maguba Guseynovna (15.7.1912, Belebey — 1.10.1971, Kazan), Pilot, Senior Lieutenant. Hero of the Soviet Union (1946). Awarded with the Order of Lenin (1946), Order of the Red Flag (1943, 1945), the 2nd Class Order of Patriotic War (1944), Order of the Red Star (1944). Participant of the Great Patriotic War. Graduated from the Tbilisi Military Aviation School (1941). She was awarded the title of Hero for outstanding fighting spirit (780 combat flights). After retirement in 1945, she lived and worked in Kazan. The streets in Belebey and Kazan are named after S. Her bust sculpture is installed in Kazan.
