TUKTAMYSH IZHBULATOV

 Participant of the Peasant War of 1773—75, Colonel of the Pugachyov’s Rebellion. Deputy of the 1767—69 Ulozhyennaya Committee. Participated in the 1755—56 Bashkir Uprising (ref. Bashkir Uprisings of the 17—18th centuries). In 1755, he defeated the Gayninian Bashkirs Rebel troops. Submitted the Decree on the Free Exercise of Islam, the restoration of yasak (tribute paid off in furs) payment, the regulation of land relations between the Bashkir owners of patrimonial estate and mine owners and pripushchenniks, allocation of a salary for those engaged in the Orenburg Military service, etc. In March, 1774, participated in negotiations with the Bashkirs on the secession of the Uprising. In June, near the Winsky Plant, with a detachment of 1 thous. people joined Ye.I.Pugachyov and as part of the Salavat Yulayev Army participated in Osa seizure. In November, he pled guilty to Major D.O.Gagrin. In 1777, he served as Starshina (Head). His future life events are unknown.
