TOURIST ORGANIZATIONS
TOURIST ORGANIZATIONS, institutions providing preparation and conducting of tourist trips. In 1929, the first tourist organization was created in Bashkortostan called the Bashkir Society for Proletarian Tourism. In 1932 Bashkir Central Tourist Station of Children’s Excursions was established (ref. The Center of Tourism, Local History and Excursions), in 1957 – first tourist club Nord (Ufa), in 1959 – Federation of Tourism of the BASSR (ref. The Sports Tourism Federation), in 1960 – Bashkir Obl. Tourist Excursion Administration (since 1992 ZAO Bashtur), in 1961 – Bashkir Republic Route Qualification Commission and the first tourist camp Zdorovye (Health) (Ufa). In 1963, The Bashkir Regional Council for Tourism and Excursions created The Municipal Travel and Excursions Agency, in 1970 – similar agencies in the Belebey, Beloretsk, Neftekamsk, Salavat and Sterlitamak. In 2016, Ufa Multidisciplinary Tourist Information Service Center was opened. In 2017, there were about 280 active tourist firms and agencies in the republic, of which 37 were included in the Unified Federal Register of Tour Operators (Rosturizm). Among them there are such tour operators as Krex, Roza Vetrov Ufa, and UralTengri.
