TYULKIN, Alexander Erastovich
TYULKIN, Alexander Erastovich (30.8.1888, Ufa — 18.3.1980, Ufa), Painter, Teacher. People’s (1955) Artist of the BASSR (1955), Merited Artist of the RSFSR (1960) and BASSR (1944). Laureate of the BASSR Award named after Salavat Yulayev (1975). Awarded with the Order of the Badge of Honour (1955). He was one of the founders of fine arts in Bashkortostan, the greatest master of painting. He played a significant role in the development of the genres of landscape and still life, contributed to the establishment of art education in Bashkortostan. He possessed a gift of a colorist. Hydrangea, Houses in the Ravine, In the Homeland of Nesterov, Ural Placers are his prominent works. He is the author of a number of paintings, dedicated to the dramatical events in the national history of the 1st half of the 20th century (Celebration on the outskirts), historical and everyday life depicting compositions (Pushkin amidst the Bashkirs, Lenin in Ufa in 1900). A.E.Tyulkin’s House-Museum was opened in Ufa, a boulevard was named after him.
