UPKANNYKUL

UPKANNYKUL (in translation from Bashkir — whirlpool, abyss, lake), a bayou lake in the basin of the Ufa River, a natural monument (1965). Located 2 km W of Derevnya Nimislyarovo of Nurimanovsky Raion. Surface area — 0.1 km², length — 2.5 km, width — up to 180 m. At high water level, it is connected to the Ufa River. Meadows grow on the east shore, there are common alder swamps in the west. Nuphar lutea, Nymphaea candida, Siberian water chestnut, Potamogeton grow here.
