URGUN, a lake in the basin of the Ural River, a natural monument (1965). Located 6 km N of Selo Uchaly. Surface area — 9.16 km2, length — 4.4 km, aver. width — 1.9 km (max. — 2.5 km), aver. depth — 5.2 m (max. — 7.7 m), volume of water — 47.6 million m3. Tectonic, there are sapropels at the bottom. Rare plant species grow here: Elytrigia reflexiaristata, Minuartia helmii, Neottianthe cucullata, etc. It is inhabited by European Arctic loon, red‑necked grebe, Melanitta fusca, included in The Red List of the RB.
