UFA PLATEAU

UFA PLATEAU, located in the N of the Bashk. Pre‑Urals, along the middle reaches of the Ufa River in the territory of the RB and Sverdlovsk Obl.; height above the sea level — 300—500 m. The relief is elevated, erosive; the slopes are dismembered by deep ravines and drylands; the east. slope is steep, abruptly drops in the direction of the Yuryuzano‑Aiskaya Plain, the west. slope is gentle, merges with the Pribelsk Rolling and Wavy Plain; karst is developed. The deposits of clays, construction stone, limestone, etc. are found. Pavlovskoye Reservoir is located on U.P. Landscapes are represented by spruce and fir forests with admixture of broadleaves, secondary birch and aspen forests are common. Wildlife reserves Askinsky and Pervomaiskiy are established. Agricultural fields occupy the central part of the plateau. Krasny Klyuch Spring, caves in the Sabakay rock, Yamanelga and Sarva rivers are natural monuments.
