FERIN, Mikhail Alexeyevich
FERIN, Mikhail Alexeyevich (14.12.1907, Torzhok of Tver Gub. – 29.7.1979, Ufa), Industrialist. Candidate of Engineering Science (1947). Hero of Socialist Labour (1957). Merited Master of Sciences and Technology of the RSFSR (1968) and the BASSR (1958), Merited Motor Builder of the USSR (1985). Laureate of the USSR State Award (1946, 1974). Awarded with the Order of Lenin (1945, 1957, 1966, 1971, 1975), Order of the Red Banner of Labour (1943, 1957, 1962), Order of the Badge of Honour (1939). Graduated from the Moscow Institute of Steel (1935). Since 1942 at UMEP (between 1947–77 as Dir.). With the participation of F., the Ufa Motor-Building Production Association developed a new heat-resistant alloy for aircraft engine valves and launched its serial production. Under the leadership of F., highlymechanized and automated production of motors for Moskvich-412 automobile was organized and the production of 25 models of aircraft and rocket engines (from RD-10 to R29B-300) was mastered. Deputy of the 3–9th Sessions of the Supreme Council of the USSR and of the 2nd Session of the Supreme Council of the RSFSR. A monument to F. was erected in the territory of the UMPO, a street and Professional Lyceum No.52 in Ufa were named after him.
