KHAYBULLINSKY RAION
KHAYBULLINSKY RAION, located in the SE of the RB. Established on August 20, 1930. Between 1937–56, a part of the Kh.r. territory was incorporated in Matrayevsky Raion. Between 1963–65, due to the amalgamation of the raions, the territory of Zilairsky Raion was part of the Kh.r. territory. Territory — 3,912 km2. Adm. centre — Selo Akyar, which located 520 km SE of Ufa and 58 km NE of the Sara Railway Station (Orenburg Obl.). Population — 30.8 thous. people (2017).
In 2017, the area of agricultural lands amounted to 300.6 thous. ha (76.8% of the total area), including arable lands — 110.6, hayfields — 53.0, pastures — 136.5; forest area — 46.1 and surface waters – 1.7. Agricultural enterprises [14 OOOs, 180 peasant (farmer) farms] specialize in the cultivation of grain, fodder crops, sunflower, meat and dairy cattle breeding. Sheep breeding, pig breeding and horse breeding are well‑developed. There are: Khaybullinsky field belonging to the branch of Energy Sales Company of Bashkortostan—Vostok (East); Buribayevsky Ore Processing Plant, OAO Khaybullinskaya Mining Company, Khaybullinsky mine of the OOO Bashkir Copper in Derevnya Petropavlovsky, etc. Highways: Sibay–Akyar and Yuldybaevo–Akyar–Sara.
There are: Akyarsky Mining College, 43 general education schools; an orphanage, 27 pre‑school educational institutions, 2 children’s music schools, a youth sports school, children’s art centre; a central hospital, 5 medical outpatient clinics, 46 medical and obstetrical centers, Sakmar Children’s Health Resort; the Central Palace of Culture, 48 clubs, 27 libraries, the Khaybullinsky Museum; a sports and fitness centre. There are 12 exemplary and 16 folk amateur art groups.
