KHANGILDIN, Vasik Khaydarovich (12.5.1907, Derevnya Sanny of Belebeyevsky Uyezd of Ufa Gub., now Selo Starye Sanny of Blagovarsky Raion of the RB, – 15.6.1998, Ufa), Breeder. Merited Acad. of the AS RB (1992), Dr.Sci(Agriculture)(1974),Full Professor (1961). Merited Agronomist of the RSFSR (1957), Merited Master of Sciences of the BASSR (1963). Awarded with the Order of Lenin (1971), Order of the Red Banner of Labour (1957, 1966), Order of Peoples’ Friendship (1982). Graduated from the Saratov Institute of Agriculture and Land Reclamation (1931). Between 1932–93, he worked at the Bashkir RI for Agriculture and Plant Breeding (between 1960–71 as Dir.), simultaneously, 1st Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the RB. Scientific research is dedicated to breeding and seed production of grain and leguminous crops, development of the technology of oilseeds cultivation in Bashkortostan. Under the leadership of H., more than 20 varieties of peas,corn(Chishminskaya 1,Chishminskaya 3, etc), and poppy (Chishminsky 171) were bred. Between 1974–95, Chairman of the Bashkir Branch of the Vavilov’ Society of Geneticists and Breeders at the RAS. Deputy of the 6th Session of the Supreme Council of the RSFSR.
