CENTRE FOR TREATMENT AND PREVENTION OF AIDS AND INFECTIOUS DISEASES

CENTRE FOR TREATMENT AND PREVENTION OF AIDS AND INFECTIOUS DISEASES, the republican outpatient type institution. It was opened in 1989 in Ufa. The Centre provides specialized diagnostical, consultative, medical and preventive care, as well as support on legal, social and rehabilitation issues of HIV‑infected residents of the RB. It organizes and performs immunologic prevention of flu, measles, rubella, polio, hepatitis and other infections among the population of the RB. The Centre also conducts epidemiologic investigation at the HIV‑infection sites, provides instructional guidance to the healthcare institutions of the republic on issues of provision of medical care to the population suffering from HIV‑infection, AIDS‑related diseases and others. It consists of Department of Epidemiology, Department of Immunologic Prevention Organizations, Clinical and Diagnostic Laboratory, Department of Follow‑up and Treatment, Instructional Department and others. The Centre has trans‑district branches in Sibay, Beloretsk, Kumertau. In 2017, it had over 50 MDs and over 50 medical workers employed.
