CHERKASOV, Andrey Gennadyevich (b.4.7.1970 in Ufa), Athlete. Merited Master of Sports (tennis) of Russia (2001). A trainee of the Specialist Children and Youth Sports Tennis School of the Olympic Reserve (Coach – N.L.Rogova). Bronze Medalist of the Olympic Games (1992), Winner of the Kremlin Cup International Singles Tournament (Moscow, 1990–91), the USSR men’s singles and doubles Champion (5‑times, 1988–89). The European junior men’s single (1982, 1986–87) and men’s double (1985, 1987) Champion. Member of the National Team (1988–2001).
