CHISHMINSKY RAION
CHISHMINSKY RAION, located in the central part of the RB. Established on August 20, 1930. Between 1963—65, due to the amalgamation of the raions, the territory of Blagovarsky Raion was a part of Ch.r. Territory — 1,824 km2. Adm. centre — Selo Chishma, which is located 57 km SE of Ufa. Population — 54.2 thous. People (2017).
In 2017, the area of agricultural lands amounted to 137.0 thous. ha (75.1% of the total area), including arable lands — 87.3, hayfields — 15.0, pastures — 32.5; forest area — 29.5 and surface waters — 2.6. Agricultural enterprises [2 APCs, 18 OOOs, 120 peasant (farmer) farms] specialize in the cultivation of grain crops, potatoes, sugar beet, sunflower, meat and dairy cattle breeding. Sheep breeding, poultry farming and pig breeding are well‑developed. On the territory of the raion, there are: Chishminsky Seed Selection Centre, Chishminsky Experimental Production Farm, the Yubileynaya Poultry Farm, a pig‑breeding farm, a veterinary station; a reinforced concrete plant, OOO Argon, Chishminsky Oil Extraction Plant, Chishminsky Sugar Plant, Chishminsky Refrigeration Plant, etc. The Kuibyshev Railway (Ufa—Abdulino and Bugulma—Chishma sections) and the following highways: Samara—Ufa—Chelyabinsk and Chishma—Kirghiz-Miyaki cross the territory. There are: a representative office of Eastern Academy of Economics, Humanities and Law, a branch of Bashkir Economics and Law College, a vocational school, 26 general education schools, an orphanage, 14 pre‑school educational institutions, a school of arts, a youth sports school, House of Pioneers and Schoolchildren, a young technicians club; a central hospital, 3 rural outpatient clinics, 41 medical and obstetrical centers, Tolpar Children’s Health Resort; the Central Palace of Culture, 35 clubs and 32 libraries. In the Raion, there are 9 folk amateur art groups.
