CHISHMINSKY HORTICULTURAL SELECTION CENTRE

CHISHMINSKY HORTICULTURAL SELECTION CENTRE. It is an experimental base of BNIISKh in the field of plant selection and seed production. It specilizes in creation agricultural crops varieties and hybrids, development and implementation of agricultural crops production technologies. Located in the PGT Chishmy of Chishminsky Raion. Established in 1912 as Chishminsky Agriculture Experimental Station, since 1956 it is a Selection and Agricultural Crops Seed Production Department of BNIISKh. The current name – since 1998. The agricultural land area amounted to 650 ha, incl. 303 ha of arable land. Yield of winter rye by brands (Cwt/ha): Chuplan 7 – 49.8, Pamyati Kunakbaeva – 54.7; winter wheat: Lutsestsens 9 – 43.5, Bashkir 10 – 47.6, Bashkir short‑stemmed winter triticale – 58.9; spring wheat: soft and hard Bashkir 28 – 38.5, Ekada 70 – 37; peas: Chishmisnky 229 – 17.7; buckwheat: Ilishevskaya – 20.6, Inzerskaya – 22.5; sudan grass: Chishminskaya 84 – 421 (herbage) and 25.5 (seeds), Yaktash – 480 and 21.1, Zarya blue hybrid medick – 369.5 (herbage), 112 (hay), 1.5 (seeds); Yubileyny smooth brome – 369,5 (herbage), 85,7 (hay), 2.9 (seeds). More than 130 sorts of agricultural crops have been created. The centre bases its work on scientific findings of S.A.Kunakbaev, V.Kh.Khangildin, etc.
