SHAYMURATOV, Minigali Minazovich (15.8.1899, Derevnya Bishtyaki of Ufimsky Uyezd of Bishtyaki Gub., in present Selo Shaymuratovo of Karmaskalinsky Raion of the RB, – 23.2.1943, buried in Selo Petrovskoye, Ukr. SSR), Military Leader, Major General (1942). Awarded with the Order of the Red Flag (1938, 1941), Order of the Red Star (1943). Veteran of the Civil and the Great Patriotic Wars. Graduated from the Frunze Military Academy (Moscow, 1934). In the Red Army since 1919. In 1921 – the Commander of the squadron of the 6th Kirsanov Cavallery Courses. Between 1925–30, he was Course Commander of the VTsIK 1st Sov. United Military School of the Red Army in Moscow. At the same time, he served as the Commander of the Regiment in charge of the protection of the Moscow Kremlin. Between 1934–37 and in 1939 – Military Attachй in China. Between 1938–39 – the Commander of the 2nd Branch of the 4th Department of the Intelligence Agency of the Red Army General Staff; Commander of the USSR People’s Commisariat 1st Special Cavalry Regiment. Between Oct. and November, 1941 – the Commander of the 1st Special Cavalry Regiment of the 3rd Caucasian Сorps of the Western Front. Since December the Commander of the Hundred and Twelfth Bashkir Cavalry Division. At the same time, since November, 1942 – Deputy Commander of the 8th Cavalry Corps. The name of S. is given to the S.’s native village. There are some streets in the RB settlements, in Petrovsky (including the City Square) and Derevnya Chernukhino (both – in Ukraine), etc, which own his name. Monuments to S. are also installed in Ufa, Selo Karmaskaly and Selo Shaymuratovo.
