SHAKIROV, Dzhigandar Tagirovich [23.6.1914, Derevnya Tykanovo of Birsky Uyezd of Ufa Gub. (Baltachevsky Raion of the RB) – 5.5.2006, Ufa], Beekeeper. Merited Acad. of the AS RB (1995), Candidate of Biology Sciences (1967). Merited Zootechnician of the RSFSR (1985), Merited Master of Sciences of the BASSR (1980), Excellent Worker of the Socialist Agricultural Sector of the USSR (1970). Participant in the Great Patriotic War. Graduated from the BSU (1959). Since 1946, he worked at the Yumatovo Agricultural Technical School, between 1963–2000 – at BSAU (between 1966–79 as Head of the Beekeeping and Zoology Department, organized by him). Scientific studies are dedicated to bee-keeping, breeding work, fighting bee diseases.
