SHAMMAZOV, Airat Mingazovich (b.31.8.1947 in Ufa), Mechanical Engineer. Academidician of the AS RB (2009), Doctor of Engineering (1986), Full Professor (1988). Merited Scientist of the RF (2003) and the RB (1997), Expert of the USSR High School (1985), Merited Worker of Higher Vocational Education of the RF (1997) and Gas Industry (2004). Laureate of the RF State Award in the field of education (2007, 2011) and I.M.Gubkin Award (1975). Awarded with the Orders of Honour (2007), of Friendship (Vietnam, 2015), for Merits to the Republic of Bashkortostan (2020). On graduation from the UPI (1971) worked there till 2014: since 1987 as the Dean of the Economy and Process Automation Faculty, since 1989 Vice‑Rector for Academic Affairs, since 1993 – for Economics, in 1994–2014 Rector, at the same time in 2006–11 President of the AS RB. Works in Continuum Mechanics. In 2008–14 the Chief Editor of mag. Petroleum products and crude hydrocarbons transportation and storage (Moscow). In 2000–10 Chairman of the University Rectors Board of the RB.
