KUZEYEV INSTITUTE FOR ETHNOLOGICAL STUDIES
KUZEYEV INSTITUTE FOR ETHNOLOGICAL STUDIES, a stand‑alone structural unit of the Ufa Federal Research Centre, of the Russian Academy of Sciences (UFRC RAS). Located in Ufa. Established in 1993. In 2011 the Institute was named after R.G.Kuzeyev. Archaeological and Ethnographic Museum is a part of it. Main activities: studies of ethnographic and ethnic history of the peoples of Bashkortostan, archaeology, religious studies, ethno‑political studies, studies of archaeological site materials, etc. The scientists of the Institute have identified, and summarized, materials related to Ethnography and traditional culture of the East Slavic, Turkic and Finno‑Ugric peoples inhabiting the Republic. They have also analysed the musical folklore of the East Slavic peoples of the South Urals. During archaeological and ethnographic expeditions, they have gathered, archaeological site materials of the South Urals, collections of the arts and crafts of different peoples, in particular Bashkir national costume, traditional decorations, utensils and so on.
