YUMATOVO

YUMATOVO, a health resort which utilizes climate and kumys therapies. Located in Ufimsky Raion of the RB, 30 km SW of Ufa, 5 km away from Yumatovo Railway Station. Opened in 1934. Between 1941–44 it hosted evacuation hospital No.2577. The centre specializes in the treatment of respiratory, digestive, nervous systems diseases and immunodeficient conditions. The primary natural remedies used are the climate, kumys, Yumatovskaya Mineral Water. There is a kumys production shop with microbiology laboratory. Yu. was visited by Heroes of the Soviet Union, poet M.Dzhalil and pilot‑astronaut A.N.Balandin; People’s Artists of the RSFSR and BASSR A.Zubairov and G.Karamyshev; Merited Artist of the RSFSR, People’s Artist of the BASSR Kh.Bukharsky, and others.
