YANAULSKY RAION
YANAULSKY RAION, located in the NW part of the RB. Established on August 20, 1930. On January 31, 1935, part of the Ya.r.’ territory was transferred to Tatyshlinsky Raion. Between 1963–65, Ya.r. included the territories of Kaltasinsky and Krasnokamsky raions. Territory — 2,094 km2. Adm. centre – Yanaul, which is located 232 km NW of Ufa. Population — 44.36 thous. people (2017). In 2017, the area of agricultural lands amounted to 141.8 thous. ha (67.7% of the total area), including arable lands — 81.5, hayfields — 16.4, pastures — 41.0; forest area — 55.8 and surface waters — 0.6. Agricultural enterprises [2 APCs, GUP, 14 OOOs, 80 peasant (farmer) farms] specialize in growing vegetables, including potatoes, grain crops; meat and dairy cattle breeding. Pig breeding, horse breeding, and bee-keeping are well‑developed. On the territory of the raion, there are: OOO Pobeda, OOO Michurinsky, GAU RB Yanaul Forestry Enterprise, etc. Gorkovskaya Railway [Agryz (Republic of Udmurtia)–Druzhinino (Sverdlovsk Obl.) Section] and Amzya–Neftekamsk–Agidel Line cross the territory. Highways: Neftekamsk–Yanaul, Ufa–Yanaul and Yanaul–Verkhniye Tatyshly. There are: a vocational school, 21 general education schools, 2 supplementary schools, 14 pre‑school educational institutions; 3 rural outpatient clinics, 46 medical and obstetrical centers; 51 clubs, the Central Palace of Culture and 29 libraries. In Ya.r., there are 13 folk and 2 exemplary amateur art groups.
