ATANOVA Lyudmila Petrovna [21.2.1920, Selo Chebotaryovo of Usergansky Canton of the ASBR (Kuvandyksky Raion of Orenburg Obl.) – 6.1.1994, Ufa], Musicologist, Folklorist. Candidate of Sciences (History of Arts) (1970). Merited Artist of the RF (1992) and BASSR (1964). Participant in the Great Patriotic War. After graduating from the Music Pedagogical Institute named after the Gnesins (Moscow, 1952) and until 1964 she worked as a Teacher at Ufa School of Arts, simultaneously between 1961–65 – at the Music Pedagogical Institute named after the Gnesins; between 1964–78 – as a Research Scientist at the Bashkir Research Institute of Language and Literature, simultaneously as a Lecturer at Bashk. Philharmonia. Her scientific research is dedicated to the history of the Bashk. musical folklore, to the problems of the genesis of the Bashk. folk music and its genres, to the modern music culture of the region and to the creative work of the Bashk. composers.
