Ufa state INSTITUTE OF ARTS named after Zagir Ismagilov. Founded in 1968, in 2003 was named after Z.G. Ismagilov. The chair of ethnic instruments (bayan, balalayka, domra; the head is V.F. Belyakov, honored artist of RSFSR and BASSR) was founded in 1968 in I.a. The chair of Bashkir music and folklore (kuray, dumbyra, kyl-kubyz, bayan, ethnic singing, by F.K. Kamayev is the head of the folklore collective, folklorist) was founded in 1989. The faculty of Bashkir music consisting of 2 separate departments – traditional musical performance and musical folkloristics (ethnic musicology since 2007) – was founded by the chair in 1996. Prominent people were among the teachers: A.M. Aytkulov, honored artist of RF, national artist of RB, N.V. Akhmetzhanova, honored artist of RB and RF, A.M. Kubagushev, S.S. Abkhalimov and A.B. Gaysarov, R.T. Galimullina, G.S. Galina, all – honored culture workers of RB. Different programs were elaborated: “Bashkir ethnic musicology”, “History of Bashkir music”, “Bashkir oral poetic art”, “Bashkir folklore ensemble”, “Traditional musical performance”, “Musical folklore of peoples of Russia”, etc. There is an orchestra of Bashkir ethnic instruments, dumbyra, quaray ensembles, “Aysulpan”, Quintet of quaray players arranged by the chair. The chair of ethnic musicology organized a student Bashkir folklore ensemble “Iremel”, which revives Bashkir ethnic holidays and ceremonies, such as “Cuckoo's tea”, “Goose help”, “Sabantuy”, “Bashkir wedding”, etc. in 2016.
