KAMAYEV Farit Khusnullovich (19.4. 1944–13.1.1993), musicologist, folklorist. Candidate of Art History (1979). His research is devoted to Bashkir folk song melody and instrumental music, the work of Bashkir composers. Author of more than 30 research papers. K. collected more than four thousand folk songs and tunes and notated more than two thousand; recorded versions of the songs “Buranbay”, “Black Pacer”, “Irendyk”, “Port-Arthur”, etc., tunes “Bay Horse”, “The Crane Song”, “Liver-Chestnut Pacer”, “Makhmut on Foot”, etc., kubair “Petty officer Masagut”. In Ufa, K. initiated the first regional competition of folk ensembles “Pearls of folk art” (1981); in 1985– 87, he initiated the regional holiday of the talyanka (type of accordion) (together with F.Kh. Ikhsanov).
