KANASH

“KANASH” (“Council”) a N G O, B a s h k o r t o s t a n. Established in Ufa in 1999. Has branches in Sterlitamak, Aurgazinskiy, Belebeevskiy, Bizhbulyakskiy, Iglinskiy and Sterlitamakskiy Districts, Bashkortostan. Three congresses were held (1999, 2006, 2014). In cooperation with the Chuvash Ethnic Cultural Association, Chuvash Historical Cultural Center participates in organizing Days of Chuvash Literature and Culture, events dedicated to F.N. Vukolov-Erlik, K.V. Ivanov, G.I. Komissarov, Y. Ukhsau, I.Y. Yakovlev, etc.; regional festival of young Chuvash singers “Nightingale’s Voice”, etc.; coordinates folk (Sunday) schools in Ufa, Meleuz, Ishimbay, Sterlitamak and other cities and towns, the Chuvash language summer camp “Friendship” in Aurgazinskiy District, Bashkortostan. Cooperates with the Chuvash Ethnic Congress (Cheboksary), Federal Association of Chuvash Ethnic Cultural Autonomies of Russia, etc.
