ART MUSEUM NAMED AFTER M.V.NESTEROV, astate museum of the RB. Located in Ufa. Founded by the initiative of M.V.Nesterov in 1919. The museum’s collection contains more than 12 thousand exhibits. The collection was initiatedby M.V.Nesterov, who in 1913, contributed M.A.Vrubel, I.I.Levitan, I.E.Repin, N.K.Roerich’ and his own paintings to themuseum. The museum’s collection includesthe 12th — 21st centuries Russian, Soviet, West European and Oriental fine art collections; a unique collection of 37 works by D.D.Burliuk; objects of traditional decorative applied art and works of fine art produced in Bashkortostan. In the museumthere are works of the following artists:M.N.Arslanov, K.G.Gubaydullin, K.S.Devletkildeyev, B.F.Domashnikov, G.Sh.Imasheva, N.A.Kalinushkin, A.F.Lutfullin,R.M.Nurmukhametov, A.E.Tyulkin et al.The museum cooperates with the following institutions: the Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow, the Russian Museum in St. Petersburg, the RT Museum of Fine Arts in Kazan, the National Museum of the RB, the Unionof Artists of the RB, the Opera and Ballet Theatre, the RB art galleries, etc. Themuseum building is a historical, architectural and urban planning landmark.
