FEATURE FILM

FEATURE FILM, a type of visual artcreated by the cinematographic embodimentof the script by means of the actor’s play, directing, camera action, the creative workof the decorator, composer, etc, as well asworks of graphic and three‑dimensional animation (ref. Animation Cinema). First F.f. on the territory of Bashkortostan was shot in 1915 based on the story of L.N.Tolstoy titled Does a Man Really Need So Much Land? (scenario and directing by V.R.Gardin), which was released in1916. It was not preserved, and is only known by descriptions found in various sources. The first film about the republic, Bashkirs and their heroic history became Salavat Yulayev. The events of the Great Patriotic War were reflected inthe Private Alexander Matrosov (1947). In 1959, a feature film version of the balletCrane Song was shot at the Sverdlovsk Film Studio. Later, a drama On the Nightof the Lunar Eclipse (1978) was filmed. It was based on the tragedy by M.Karim of the same title. Great success was enjoyed bythe film The Rider on a Golden Horse.

On the Bashkir TV (ref. Bashkortostan) appear such works as a television film Hope (1972) by A.G.Abdrazakov, the firstBashkir TV series Gold is Collected in Bits (1979) based on the novel of the same nameby Ya.Kh.Khammatov, Kinzya (1988)based on a novel of the same name by G.G.Ibragimov. Other TV series alsocame into being. After the creation of the Bashkortostan TV studio, the followingshort films were shot: At Night, You Can (2004), Three Letters (2015), The Sawmill (2015), The Savage (2016); full‑length F.f.: The Longest Childhood (2005), The13th Round (2011), etc. From 2007, the film studio begins to create feature films in digital format. Theseinclude My Star, Wind Catcher (both – in2010), etc. Since 2004, F.f. have also beenmade by Vista Vision Ufa Studio. In 2017 in the Zhivaya Lenta (Live Ribbon) filmstudio was filmed the F.f.Babich, in theAskarfilm film studio – From Ufa with Love, both of them became laureates of different film festivals.
