KOBZAR, choir
“KOBZAR”, Ukrainian song choir. It was established in 1991 at Ordzhonikidze Palace of Culture; since 2000 it has been the city cultural and leisure center of Ufa. In 1996, he was awarded the title “People’s” of RB; in 2017, it earned the same in Ukraine. The repertoire includes Ukrainian folk songs: “Oh, a well in the field” and “Oh, in the field on the hill” treated by L.B. Babushkina (artistic director), “Oh, saltbush was the girl weeding” treated by M. Pashkevich, “Oh, someone’s horse is standing”, “Galya carries water”; songs on poems by Taras Shevchenko: “Violent wind”, “My thoughts”, “Cherry garden near the hut”, etc.; songs: “My land” Z.A. Akimova, “Old chapel” G. Sopilnyak, “Cossack wedding” by I. Yakubovsky, etc. Special place in the repertoire is taken by folk and ritual compositions (“Night of Ivan Kupala”, “Vechernitsy”, “Christmas carols”, etc), spiritual chants, patriotic songs. The choir is actively involved in the implementation of the program for the revival and development of the language and culture of the Ukrainians of RB. Winner of the national, and other festivals and competitions.
