KUTUZOV

“KUTUZOV”, Bashkir ethnic march song. The origin of the song is connected with military cooperation of the Bashkirs and Russians during the War of 1812. The song is named after Kutuzov, a warlord. The warlord in the song epitomizes the power of Russia, its invincibility; the great warlord and the warriors, who fought for the Motherland’s honor and liberty, are glorified. The  song  consists  of  2  parts (a verse and a chorus consist of 2 phrases). Wide range (quartec) is typical for the melody of “K.” The mode is based on a combination of 3 pentatonic formations. Energetic fourth movements, precision, repetition of melodic and rhythm structure, tripartite makes the song dynamic and adds brilliance to it. The musical adaptation for a capella choir was made by Z.G. Ismagilov.
