THE ROUTE
“THE ROUTE”, Bashkir ethnic naigrysh melody. First registered by L.N. Lebedinskiy in 1939 from K. Akhmetzyanov in Beloretsk District, published in “Bashkort khalk yirdary”. The melody resembles a dance-march. The origins of “M.” is connected with military service of the Bashkirs in the 18-19th centuries. The naigrysh has a periodic form of repetitive structure, which includes 2 phrases with an insertion between them. The tune is based on a major pentatonic, repetitive ascending fourth leaps, which imitate military trumpet signals. The tune of “T.R.” was used in L.B Stepanov’s and Z.G. Ismagilov’s ballet “Crane Song” and in the self-titled male solo dance choreographed by Y.Z. Bikberdin.
