MARYANA

“MARYANA”, folk and pop ensemble of the Sterlitamak branch of Bashkir State University. It was formed in 1994. In 2003, it earned the title “People’s.” I.E. Karpukhin contributed to the formation of the team. The repertoire includes Russian folk songs “Goryana,” “Down the bridge we walked,” “Ladies went,” “Down the river,” “The bride’s cry,” etc; songs of Nekrasov Cossacks: “I have three horses in the stable”, “Ay, you gypsies”; Ukrainian, Belorusian, Tatar folk songs; songs written by the ensemble’s artistic director M.V. Garbuz: “At dawn,” “Between the banks,” “Fair,” “Ay, on the mountaintop,” “By the samovar,” etc; as well as ceremonial (wedding, Trinity-Kupala rites, caroling), folklore and game (“Maslenitsa,” “Vechorki”), music and game programs.

Winner of the Grand Prix of the international competition of songs and dances of the peoples of Russia and the world “Angel of Hope” (St. Petersburg, 2006, 2013), the international festival of children’s and youth creativity “Star Simeiz” (Yalta, 2008), the international festival-competitions “Star hour” and “Constellation of the good” (both in village Chernomorskoe, Ukraine, 2010), the international festival-competition “Nestya-sunny beach” (Nessebar, Bulgaria, 2012), the International festival of culture for children and youth “Beautiful world!” (Hamburg, Germany, 2013), international festival-competition “Rising Prague“ (Czech Republic, 2015), etc. Winner of the international, national, and other festivals and competitions.
