INTERNATIONAL COUNCIL OF ORGA­ NIZATIONS OF FOLKLORE FESTIVALS AND FOLK ARTS

INTERNATIONAL COUNCIL OF ORGA­ NIZATIONS OF FOLKLORE FESTIVALS AND FOLK ARTS (CIOFF®), is an international nongovernmental organization, official partner of UNESCO, the main goal of which is to preserve and promote the intangible cultural heritage of peoples from all over the world. There are ethnic sectors of the council in 102 countries of the world. F. Beaussant has been the head of CIOFF® since 2013.

The Russian Ethnic sector is based at The Russian National House of Folk Art n.a. V.D. Polenov (Moscow) and unites the representatives of the RF subjects. The presidents of Russian Ethnic sector are: E.S. Kunina (since 1989), T.V. Purtova (since 2014). Russian ethnic sector conducted International festival of ethnic art “Golden ring” (in Vladimirskaya region), International festival of ethnic arts and crafts “Sadko” (Novgorodskaya region), International festival of ethnic cultures “Berdemlek – Sodruzhestvo”, International festival of folklore and traditional culture “Highlanders” (The republic of Dagestan) in Russia etc.
