“MUGLIFA”, Bashkir ethnic song, kyska-kuy. First registered by S.K. Gabyashi in 1932-1934 in Temyasovo village, Baymakskiy District, BASSR from Suyumbika Kulibaeva and published in “Bashkir ethnic songs” collection (1935). The variants of “M.” are registered by A.S. Kly ucharyev, L.N. Lebedinskiy, G.Z. Suleymanov. The song is lyric dancing. It glorifies the dili gence, beauty and brightness of a girl named Muglifa. The melody has the periodic form of a repetitive structure containing two phrases. The distinctive feature of the melody is expressive intonations and beat; it is based on a major pentatonic with repetitive descending fourth leaps. The musical adaptation of “M.” for choir and piano was made by K.Y. Rakhimov. There is a self-titled Bashkir female solo dance, which was first performed on the professional stage in the early 1940s in the folklore version. It was performed by the Honored Artist of RSFSR and the Honored Artist of BASSR B.A. Yusupova. In 1939 F.A. Gaskarov composed a self-titled dance for the Honored Artist of BASSR K.N. Magazova. The dancer creates an image of a spinner with gentle spinning and stumping, del icate hand gestures and smooth walk. In 1945 Honored Artist of RSFSR and BASSR T.S. Khu dayberdina added elements of the classical cho reography to the dance.
