NASIBULLIN Rif Shakrislamovich

NASIBULLIN Rif Shakrislamovich (b. 15.10.1936), linguist, translator. Doctor of Philology (1999), Professor (2000). His research is devoted to Udmurt dialectology, linguistic geography, historical lexicology, and translation of folklore works, etc. Author of more than 300 research papers. N. collected Udmurt folk songs, fairy tales, legends, myths, etc. He researched and developed a classification of dialects and vernacular of the Udmurt language, including the one in the territory of the Republic of Bashkortostan. He translated more than 20 Bashkir and Tatar songs into the Udmurt language, etc. One of the authors of the “Linguistic Atlas of Europe” (Assen, vol. 1–4, 1983–1990; Rome, vol. 5–6, 1997–2003), etc.
