RAKHIMOV Kamil Yusufovich
RAKHIMOV Kamil Yusufovich (25.8. 1900, Sevastopol – 25.2.1978, Ufa), Composer, Folklorist, Public Figure (music). After graduating from the Bashk. Technical School of Arts (1929), he worked at the Bashk. Drama Theater and at the Republican Radiofixation Committee at the People’s Commissariat of BASSR. In 1930, he was purged. Rehabilitated in 1977. Between 1943–57, he worked in the folk office at the Directorate of Arts Affairs at the Council of Ministers of BASSR. He is one of the founders of Bashk. professional music and ethnomusicology. The artistic skill of R. is inherent in genre and thematic diversity, original embodiment of intonations and rhythms of national musical language. R. recorded and notated about 400 Bashkir, Tatar, Russian, Chuvash folk songs.
