“TAUSEN”, a Russian folk ensemble of Bashkir State University and Aksakov Foundation of the Bashkir (Aksakov) branch of the international fund for Slavic writing and culture. It was founded in 1980 by E.V. Yevdokimova. In 1993 it was titled “People’s”. Their song performance is known for originality and authentic manner. The repertoire includes Russian folk songs (“My stripe to plow”, “Winter”, “Ural Cossack”, “Daughter-bird”, “Mother-weather”, “Devonyushka”, “Here ran the path”, “Don’t cuckoo, my cuckoo”, “At the gate”, ”I walked day to night”, etc), ceremonial folklore (wedding, yuletide, kuzminki, maslenitsa, etc). Participant of the international Aksakov festival (annually since 1991), the international folklore festival of the European Broadcasting Union (Cork, Ireland, 2007), etc. Winner of the international, national, and other festivals and competitions. The T.’s team is one of the organizers of the annual regional festival-competition of the old Russian song “We were in Krasny Yar...” (Ufa district of RB). On Bashkir TV, director L.M. Ilyasova-Koryakovtseva made a documentary film “Tausen: Portrait without borders” (2001).
